TN-Birders, About 3:00pm today, I walked outside and was immediately overwhelmed with the sounds of migrating Sandhill Cranes. We live in the edge of a wooded area so I had to run around to see through the holes in the trees to count 500 in about 10 minutes. I have no idea how many went before them. At a church meeting tonight, three people asked me if I saw the cranes . Each one said there were "hundreds and hundreds" went over their houses. I have no idea how many there were today but it was a great day for flying northward. Howard Groce Byrdstown, Pickett Co.
