Afternoon birders...Melinda Welton, Steve and I just returned from south central Nebraska. Below is a short video that will give you a "taste" of what that area has to offer this time of the year...Lesser Sandhill Cranes in numbers you've probably never seen before if you've not been out there. But let me tell you folks, as spectacular as the sheer numbers of Cranes in Nebraska...a day at Hiwassee in southeast Tennessee can be even more exciting and spectacular. For at Hiwassee when you can stand on the refuge the Sandhills literally soar right over head in waves. Coming so close sometimes you feel like you could just reach out and touch them. I knew Hiwassee was a unique place but our 2200 mile trip out to the Great Plains and back just cemented in my heart and mind what a GLORIOUS GIFT Tennessee's own Sandhill Cranes are for our State. http://www.youtube.com/RoweSanctuaryNE Happy viewing...enjoy! <") ( \ / |` Cyndi Routledge "When one tugs at a single thing in Nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world." ~John Muir =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to SIGN YOUR MESSAGE with first and last name, CITY (TOWN) and state abbreviation.
