Secretary Salazar visited the Platte River Monday, called the spectacle
"inspirational" and said, "....to see what's happening at the Platte River is
truely amazing."
You can read Operation Migration's report of this visit in the field
journal:

On the 19th, I will be sending a Petition to Secretary Salazar and other
officials in USFWS requesting that the Management Plan for the Eastern
Population be changed to exclude the hunting objective based on insufficient
survey methods and a lack of input from those who are opposed to hunting
sandhill cranes in the east.

You may sign the petition as anoymous if you do not wish your name
published, but please sign it if you are in agreement with this request.
Petition
