[TN-Bird] Rufous Hummingbird Day 89

As I hung the feeder out and looked around in the fog and darkness I
wondered if Willie was out there watching for his spotlight to come on.
It was some ten minutes later at 6:08 that he zipped by for his first
sip of the day.
He certainly must think that Spring is almost here . The two small
cherry trees that we planted a couple of years ago are in full bloom and
a Song sparrow was singing in a near by shrub. The crocus and hyacinths
around the neighborhood are popping out and it certainly makes me think
that Spring cannot be very far away.
That gives me glad and sad feelings, glad because of all the migrants
coming through and sad that it probably means Willie will be moving
back to his own habitat to find a mate and start a family.
That even makes me glad because family is a wonderful part of life.
