He is Wet Willie this morning as there is a cold downpour that began as
freezing rain but he still came at 6:32 a.m. for his first sip of sugar
water. He's returned for two more extended drinks in the next couple of
minutes even though it is dark outside; I guess hunger overcomes caution
on a day like this. The two aluminum covers over the spotlight and heat
lamps provide some relief from the rain, but he is soaking wet already.

He didn't have a good day yesterday as the wind and cold made the yard
birds take over his sitting places again and their activity made him
wait a long time between feedings. At one time when Dee was here to see
him it was over an hour before he drank and this is the longest period
he's been absent from the feeder when we were watching him. It's always
worth the wait, however, for when he appears the word "beautiful" comes
from the mouth of every person who sees him. Even soaking wet he is a
delight to the eyes.
