We overslept this morning (long week of painting inside to get ready for new
carpet next week) and missed the early feeding of the mature male Ruby-throated
Hummingbird who arrived late yesterday. But at noon he came to the picture
window feeder and took 36 drinks and some were long ones. We assume he has
been resting all morning and woke up voraciously hungry.
Even though no warblers have shown up this week, this little hummer and our
135th yard bird on Wednesday (Northern Pintail Duck) made all the intense
looking worth it.
