While working the public health response to the Kingston TVA coal fly ash spill yesterday I noticed a large number of waterfowl on an unlike temporary pond caused by flooding of a field. It was mostly Canada geese and mallards, but further inspection revealled a few N pintails, 2 sandhill cranes in the dry part of the field, and 2 Ross's geese among the mallards. I took pictures which I can't currently download because I thought it was unusual to have 2. The area was off of Swan Pond Circle Rd and it was tough to stop long to look because of all the large trucks on the road moving debris.
