[TN-Bird] Rose-breasted Grosbeaks

Since the last post we've had Rose-breasted Grosbeaks regularly at the feeder
dining on both Black Oil Sunflower Seeds and suet. One male craning his neck
as far as he could to get suet way down in the bottom of the suet holder.
We've had mostly males including what (to my untrained eyes) appear to be
immatures - with streaks of white and gray on their backs? Also a few females.

One of my sisters who lives over by the airport in Murfreesboro told me that
a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak has been trying to get into her house via a
window. He taps his beak and flaps his wings in vain to get in through the
closed
window. There is a ledge inside the window and she feels he must be trying to
get at that. I pointed out to her a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak at the feeder
one day and she swears it is the same bird trying to get into her window.

When I was a kid in Wisconsin back in the 1970s and first getting interested
in birds, I always hoped to see a Rose-breasted Grosbeak but never did. Now we
have more everyday at our feeders than you can shake a stick at ;-)
