SW Shelby County, Memphis, TN 1:30pm -2:30pm, Hot 93+ Degs, While taking a late lunch brak I Traveled west and scanning the wetlands from the Cypress Creek Bridge towards the TVA pond at Plant Rd. Notables: 6 - Green heron 2 - Yellow Crowned Night Heron All the Heron's seen foraging around the downed timber areas of the 1st and 2nd areas from the bridge. 1 - Red Headed Woodpecker, one of a pair I've seen in the standing and downed timber area nearest the bridge, have seen them "Hawking" insects from their high perchs. 1 - E. Kingbird hawking insects from utility wires along rd near area 2. 1- Bluebird 2 - Can Geese 3 - Least Terns feeding at the tva pond. Several each Morn. Doves, N. Mockingbirds, Red Wing Blkbrds, Cardinals, and Starlings.
