Just a reminder that the 2008 TOS Fall Meeting is coming up in
Chattanooga, November 7-9. The meeting announcement, including
information about lodging, registration, field trips, and schedule of
events, follows below, and can also be accessed on the TOS website
(http://www.tnbirds.org/Fall08-meeting.html). Hope to see you there!

2008 FALL MEETING AND SYMPOSIUM TO BE AT CHATTANOOGA
November 7-9
The Chattanooga Chapter extends an invitation to all TOS members across
the state to attend the TOS Fall Meeting, to be held November 7 - 9,
2008. Most of the meeting events will be held at the Chattanooga
Nature Center.
Lodging:
A block of 12 rooms at the Econo Lodge Lookout Mountain, 150 Browns
Ferry Rd, has been reserved for TOS. Call 423-821-9000 for
reservations. Be sure to ask for the TOS meeting rates, which are
$54.99 per night ($5 - $15 off standard rate). We encourage people to
reserve hotel room soon.

Chattanooga, Tennessee (Lookout Mountain), or go directly to the
hotel's website. Please note that this is the same hotel used for the
2004 spring meeting in Chattanooga. It is very close to the Browns
Ferry Road exit of I-24 and not on Lookout Mountain.
Field Trips
Trips will be held Saturday and Sunday morning. The destinations are
not yet finalized but are likely to include:
The Honors Course – (golf course - will be able to get around in golf
carts but number will be limited to 20 each day),
Standifer Gap Marsh
Brainerd Levee
Nickajack Lake
Check back soon for more details on the field trips.
Birding can also be done at Chattanooga Nature Center / Reflection
Riding at any time.
Symposium - Call for Presenters
A regular feature of the TOS Fall Meetings is the symposium, during
which TOS members and others present the results of their studies of
birds in or near Tennessee. Presentations are typically 15 to 20
minutes in length. If you are interested in giving a presentation
during the symposium, please contact Chuck Nicholson at

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Symposium – Chattanooga Nature Center
4:00 pm - 6:00 Board of Directors meeting –
Chattanooga Nature Center
Sunday, November 9
7:00 am-12:00 pm Field trips-depart from Econo Lodge
The registration fee for the meeting is $10.00/person. Please
preregister by mailing your registration fee to chapter treasurer Cathy
Lockwitz at, 4525 Lake Haven Dr., Chattanooga, Tn. 37416. Include your
name, as you would like it to appear on your name tag, and your chapter
affiliation.
