[TN-Bird] Regional Birder's Christmas Party

Regional Birding Party Goers:
Bob and Ellen Parker and their son Charlier have invited the Bristol Bird Club
to hold our 11th Annual Regional Birder's Christmas Party at their beautiful
home in Piney Falts, TN.

We will gather Saturday, December 11, and the food will be on the table on or
before 7:00 p.m. We start gathering at 6 p.m. This is a covered dish dinner.
This is not a chip and dip deal This is Christmas dinner with the BBC! You
will eat the best prepared dishes by our finest cooks. It is a tremendous
party awaited with much excitement.

The BBC has an official visit from Santa with gifts for everyone, old and
young. Santa is required to be at this event every year and is usually in a
"fowl" mood ;-) Everyone has to sit on Santa's lap to learn whether you have
been a good birder or not !

We announce our regional birding awards, club awards, best regional birds of
the year for 2004 and "Birder of the Year" at this event.

It is a very festive party with everyone decked out in their Christmas sweaters
and other holiday season atire. Last year we were provided violin dinner music
by Chris O'Bryan.
One year we even had a commercial fireworks company come and set up all day to
shoot a computer programed fireworks show as our grand finale. Since our BBC
president is a fire inspector and the vice-president's wife is an eye surgeon,
our fireworks shows have been ordered shutdown. No more fire-and-fun time :-(

Three years ago Jeff Wilson, OL'COOT / TLBA, drove from Memphis to attend the
party because he wanted to see it for himself. He was amazed and went home
with tremendous Christmas cheer. Ol 'Coot was the life of the party.

The Parker home is located at 4318 Summerfield Drive. This is just off U.S.
11E where it crosses the DeVault Bridge at Boone Lake. The Parkers live on the
Piney Flats side of the bridge and to the west of U.S. 11E (turn right of the
highway when south bound towards Johnson City or turn left of the highway when
north bound towards Bristol). For those of you who remember the old Will Mary
Gift Shop, their home is located a short distance behind that former store site.

We will have more details for you within the next couple of weeks.

Let's go birding.......
