Reelfoot Lake,
Upper Blue Basin
Lake Co.

Spring is definitely in the air. Even though the temp today and wind has made
for a very chilly damp day. Nice hearing all the songbirds. The Least Terns
have returned (3-16) and could be seen fishing on the Upper Blue Basin along
with the DC Cormorants as they make a drive.
The Osprey have been in for at least a week and seem to be on nest. A pair has
made a new nest directly across from Blue Basin Cove and guests have been
enjoying watching them add sticks to the nest. One family was fishing and an
Osprey almost got the bait on the end of the line. We had 4 nests last year on
the Upper Blue and hopefully this is a new pair. The Bald Eagle young hatched
about two weeks ago and their little heads can now be seen.

Have been very busy with the business but am always looking and listening.

Hopefully, spring will come in like a lamb.

Nancy
