[TN-Bird] Red-throated Loons at Watauga Lake

Watauga Dam Overlook


At about 4:00pm this afternoon, J.T. McNeil and I observed two Red-throated
Loons from the boat ramp overlook at Watauga Dam.  One appeared to be a
juvenile and the other a non-breeding adult.

We were later joined by Don Holt and (after some leg work and racing the
sunset) were able to relocate the adult bird.

Canada Goose (197)
Bufflehead (147)
Mallard (53)
Black Duck (2)
Common Raven (1)
