[TN-Bird] Red-shouldered Hawk question

I am intermittently observing a nesting pair of red-shouldered hawks with
nestling(s). I estimate that the nestling observed is 24 days old.
Yesterday while observing, I heard peeping in what appeared to be young
answering the vocalizations of the returning female. The male called soon
after
from a distance. Unfortunately my recorder was in the car at that moment and
I didn't hear this call after this occurrence. I will be ready next
visit.

Since this is a very vocal species, I wondered if anyone can confirm
reading or observations about when the nestlings begin to call to parents. I
got a binocular view of the nestling and could see feather development and
some wing flapping.

Thanks for any info. This has been a very educational and rewarding
endeavor. I have our TN Breeding Birds atlas and Wheeler's books but I
haven't
found anything about vocalizations in nestlings for this species.

Thanks,
Vickie
