[TN-Bird] Redpoll-- anticipating the weekend

The Hohenwald Common Redpoll was being fairly cooperative this =20
morning, showing up every 15-30 minutes or so. Still has avoided =20
having a magazine-cover quality photo taken, though we have plenty of =20=

good diagnostic shots. With the weekend looming, some items:

The bird has started using the front yard feeders more, plus lurking =20
almost invisibly in the nearby magnolia. It also still frequents the =20=

wisteria tangle behind and to the right (south) of the carport. =20
Position yourself where you can see both spots for best odds. Feeder =20=

visits are usually brief; have your optics or cameras ready!

GPS coords: N 35=BA32'34.7" W 087=BA33'31.0"

Could folks who also subscribe to the AL, MS, and GA listservs please =20=

cross post this bird there if it hasn't already been done? Hohenwald =20=

is only 6 hours from Atlanta and a stone's throw from the AL and MS =20
borders...

Overnight accommodations in the area, if desired:
-- Embassy Inn 931-796-1500 (just east of downtown on main street)
-- Goodenough Inn 931-796-2501 (a couple of miles north of town on =20
highway 48)
-- Ridgetop Bed and Breakfast (931) 285-2777 or (800) 377-2770 (about =20=

10 miles east on 412)
-- Avaleen Springs B & B (931) 589-2857 (about 10 miles west on 412)
-- Campground at the Natchez Trace Parkway 10 miles east of town. I =20
am not sure if it is open year-round, but it probably is =20
931-796-2675. =20

Variety of decent non-chain eateries in town, plus the usual chains. =20=

Within two hours of Pickwick Dam, Savannah Bottoms, Pace Point, Paris =20=

Landing, Cross Creeks NWR, or Wheeler NWR.

Thanks, and good luck!
