It's all about timing. I was watching out the bedroom window this
morning before work, checking off the usual feeder birds including
our now regular RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH when a tight, irregular Vee
of 9 REDHEAD flew low over the yard heading SW down Black Oak Ridge.
Got nice looks with the binocs and then ticked off the ID points
from "Ducks from a Distance". 8 males and 1 female. Yardbirds #151.
The waterfowl list for the yard now includes Canada Goose, Snow Goose,
teal species, N Pintail, Redhead, and Common Merganser... all flyovers
and all but Canada Goose seen only once.
