My problem with hummingbird feeders is caused by small, blue-green bees that get into the sugar-water and die, fouling the mixture. Does anyone have a solution for that? I bought new feeders this year with smaller feeding holes to hopefully exclude the yellowjacket wasps that always got into the feeders in the past in August and September. I have trouble with my feeders because my numerous Downys sit on them all day and make the nectar nasty. This morning I had a female Red Belly drinking her fill from a feeder that I had just refilled. It is a small flat feeder and she drank half the nectar! Wildlife is wonderful!!! Linda V.
