[TN-Bird] Rankin cleanup

The Rankin Bottoms Project is sponsoring the fifth annual litter pickup at 
Rankin Bottoms in Cocke county on 12/4/04 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  Gloves are 
recommended.  We'll be working along from the RR crossing to the old bridge 
abutment.
The muddy sections of the access road have been repaired, and the roads have 
been graded through the tipple and along the old RR bed across the bottoms.  
Gravelling should be completed by next weekend.  Many thanks to TWRA and the 
Cocke County Highway Department.

The Rankin floodplain has been fully exposed for a couple of weeks; birds are 
now relatively scarce in that area.  At 1:00 on 12/4, we'll head over to Dutch 
Bottoms to survey birds along the shoreline and on the lake.  There's usually 
an assortment of waterfowl, gulls, waders and shorebirds at this time of year.
