[TN-Bird] Radnor Lake visit

Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Monday, Sep. 19, 2004
Davidson County, Nashville

I spent a couple hours at Radnor Lake on Monday from 10am to just past noon.
On a beautiful day, I walked Frank Fekel's route from the visitors center on
the west side of the lake to the long bridge and back. I had a pretty good
warbler day for the short time I was there with 9 species seen.
One small group of trees had about 20 birds of four warbler species! It was
one of those "just stand in one place with the binoculars up and try to keep
up with what comes into view" moments! The area is about 30-50 yards along
the trail past the dam.

Warblers seen:

Blackburnian-1
Black-throated Green-3
American Redstart-3 male, 3 female
Yellow-throated-1
Magnolia-20+
Black-and-White-1
Tennessee-1
Northern Parula-2
Chestnut-sided-1

Other birds of note:

Rose-breasted Grosbeak-1 female
Yellow-billed Cuckoo-1
Swainson's Thrush-Dozen +
Scarlet Tanager-1 female
R.T. Hummingbird-4
