[TN-Bird] Radnor Lake on Tuesday

Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Davidson Co.
Nashville, TN
2008 September 30
7:10-10:15 am

Having just returned from a business trip to Arizona, I went out to Radnor
Lake to see the continuing TN fall migration. About 150 BLUE-WINGED TEAL
were resting on the lake. A flock of at least 90 COMMON GRACKLEs made a
noisy pasage through the trees as I reached Long Bridge and began my
return to the dam. The best birding for warblers was in the dam area
and I found 13 species today, heavily tilted toward MAGNOLIA WARBLERs.
There was a major influx of COMMON YELLOWTHROATs as well. PHILADELPHIA
VIREO and ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK were two species that I found today for
the first time this fall since I missed the last 2 weeks of migration.

Species of interest included:
Blue-winged Teal 150+
Pied billed Grebe 1
Ruby throated Hummingbird 1
E. Wood-Pewee 6
E. Phoebe 3
White-eyed Vireo 2
