I took an afternoon walk from the east parking lot of Radnor Lake State Natural Area in Nashville today. I heard the Louisiana Waterthrush reported by Kevin Bowden this weekend when I first arrived. On the lake, the Gadwall/Wigeon/Shovelers that were present last Wednesday were not in sight. In their place, was two pairs of Wood Ducks in the east end of the lake. I was able to give good scope views of the males to a number of walkers. Also present was a pair of American Black Ducks. Late weekend report from the Bellevue area: Purple Martin at Hwy 100 Kroger on Saturday. Red-breasted Nuthatch at Ridgelake Apartments on Old Hickory Blvd on Sunday. A single Northern Rough-winged Swallow was seen at Ridgelake Apartments on Tuesday.
