[TN-Bird] Radnor Lake Surf Scoter continues

Radnor Lake State Natural Area
Nashville
Davidson Co., TN

7-8:30 am

With Jan Shaw's defection to warm Ecuador today, Phillip Casteel and I
visited Radnor Lake Tuesday morning. Chilly winter conditions greeted
us as the sun rose, causing fog to rise from the lake, making a search
for ducks initially difficult. We spent some minutes around the
dam and ranger's house but neither heard or saw any unusual warblers.
Eventually, we walked along Otter Creek Road to look for ducks.
We found the SURF SCOTER in the middle of the lake (its usual recent
location) along with its RUDDY buddy. If I have counted correctly this
is the 13th day of its visit! The mix of other ducks seems to change
daily. In addition to the above two, we had:

Wood Duck 1
Gadwall 40+
American Wigeon 2
Bufflehead 23

Did NOT see or hear any PURPLE FINCHES during our stay but an EASTERN
PHOEBE continues.
