Radnor Lake State Natural Area
12/30/11
Davidson Co.

The Surf Scoter was still at Radnor Lake as late as 2pm this afternoon. For
about an hour, she didn't move hardly at all from a spot right in the middle of
the lake (north-south) and closer to the west end. If you're walking west along
Otter Creek Rd., go past the second observation deck and then past the
temporary fencing immediately beyond it. From that vantage point, look east.
(She's actually closer to the observation deck itself, but there are too many
trees there to get a good view.)

Also 3 Buffleheads, at least 6 Canvasbacks, a pair of Lesser Scaup, huge
numbers of Gadwalls & Ring-necked Ducks, a few Ruddy Ducks, and a few
Green-winged Teal in the pond on the south side of Otter Creek Rd. No wigeons
today.
