This morning, Wed. Oct. 30, I birded Radnor Lake in Nashville from about 7-8:30 am. It had a very different feel from last week. Overcast and chilly with a bit of drizzle, it reminded me of a late November day (except I found NO ducks or geese), and there were very non-winter birds to be found. I did manage to find 2 EASTERN PHOEBEs and a single BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER, hanging out with a flock of YELLOW-RUMPEDs, but no CHIMNEY SWIFTs. Instead there were plenty of AM. ROBINs and WHITE-THROATED SPARROWs. Other birds included: Winter Wren 1 Golden-crowned Kinglet 3 Ruby-crowned Kinglet 6 Eastern Bluebird 7 Hermit Thrush 4 Song Sparrow 6 Swamp Sparrow 3 White-throated Sparrow 35 Frank Fekel Tennessee State University Center of Excellence in Information Systems 330 10th Avenue North Nashville, TN 37203 USA =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Topographical Maps located at http://topozone.com/find.asp * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Visit the Tennessee Ornithological Society web site at http://www.tnbirds.org * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net Owner: Wallace Coffey, Bristol, TN jwcoffey@xxxxxxxxxx (423) 764-3958 =========================================================
