Davidson County Radnor Lake Nashville, TN March 26, 2009 Hello everyone, I am posting here in a really long time. Last Thursday morning (Mar 26, 2009) I took a walk on the lake trail at Radnor Lake in Nashville. It was a beautiful morning with many birds I hadn't seen in a while. Cedar waxwings were too numerous to count, flying around, perching on most trees along the lake gorging on fruits. Yellow rumped warbler (Myrtle): ~10 (males and females) Wood Duck (one solitary male and a pair) Ring neck ducks (about a dozen: mix of males and females) Pileated woodpecker (1) Red bellied woodpecker (1, heard several) Downy woodpecker (2) Cedar Waxwings (too numerous to count) Chimney Swift (5) Canada goose (2) White breasted nuthatch (2) This weekend (March 28 & 29), I was in Texas visiting Dallas and College Station. I didn't get to do any birding particularly, but observed a few first of life birds while driving in the countryside. These were: Loggerhead Shrike (1) Scissor tailed flycatchers (at least a dozen in different locations) Happy birding!
