Tuesday 21 Mar.
Phillip Casteel and I converged on Radnor Lake in Nashville today.
By the time I arrived at 7 am he had heard a CONNECTICUT along the
gravel dam road to the Old Visitor's Center, which is now a park
employee residence. Along the Lake Trail between the deck overlooking
the lake and Long Bridge we heard or saw 3 more CONNECTICUTs.
Other birders arrived as well. Linda and Steve Hamilton saw
CONNECTICUTs and saw a MOURNING WARBLER at the "Artist and Teacher"
Bench. Ruth Lukens and Jerry Ingalls (Sorry Ruth and Jerry I
am sure I spelled your names wrong) arrived after 9 am, making the
long ride from Tullahoma and Sewanee. When I left to come into work,
they had gotten some brief looks at the warblers.
David Dortch found a calling YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, which we
saw near the "Artist and Teacher" Bench.
Before leaving, we found at least 5 PHILADELPHIA VIREOs and 13 species of
warblers.
Another great morning.
