[tn-bird] Re: Posting to Tn-Bird

Jimi,

Good luck with the birds at Kingston. In a round-about way, I am glad you
got the posting (I was wanting to get a little more historic data from
Steve Stedman, who has been a birding mentor to me, before posting it to
the net).

The birds were red, red, red in the low evening sun at 6 p.m. last night,
with a lot of white on their faces. From looking at Kaufman's guide while
there, and from my memory of seeing them at Kingston early last September
with Stedman, that is what they appeared to me from binoculars at about 300
yards(unfortunately, I didn't have a scope). See what you think.

I also saw black-crowned night herons at Kingston last night,

Have a good birding trip to Kingston today.
