If anyone is interested, I've added a few photos of various birds I've taken this spring. Nothing rare, just a few birds I have happened across. Among these were a very cooperative Barred Owl, a Great Egret in high-breeding colors, Greater Yellowlegs, Northern Harrier high overhead, Cowbirds, and Wilson's Phalarope and Upland Sandpipers from this last weekend in Memphis. There are several shots of the Uplands. Regarding the Uplands, though I've seen quite a few over the years, I saw more that one day with Jeff down there than I had before cumulatively. The combination of his knowledge of the birds and the areas they like, and having some prime spots for them close-by, makes for a fantastic combination. I have looked unsuccessfully for them in several ideal-looking fields around home this season. One thing about an Upland though, if they don't want to be seen, you probably won't see them. That is one tricky bird! Anyway, if anyone is interested in a few shots, try http://www.pbase.com/mctodd/spring_2007 . Double-clicking any image will enlarge it.
