[TN-Bird] Peregrine and Mississippi Rv traffic

I had an hour to spare and dropped into the pits just in time to see a
Peregrine chase up the largest crowd of shorebirds I've seen this year.
Unfortunately most kept going out to the river and I did not have time to wait
for
their return. The cloud of "peeps" was huge and the Peregrine was relentless.

On the Mississippi, there were two small pods of Pied-billed Grebes, 6 and 8
birds, they usually are a week or so later in moving but I've seen over 100
at a time resting in the eddies behind the rock dikes after a long night's
flight. A group of 45 plus White Pelicans took flight from north of the
Loosahatchie Bar and another 120 soared lazily high in the sky heading south.
Great
Blue Herons and Great Egrets sprinkled the shoreline and 2 Snowy Egrets
danced in the shallows north of the Loosahatchie Bar. A few Killdeer were all
the
shorebirds seen but the bars are ready but a steady trickle of Tree Swallows
skimmed the water headed downstream.
Good Birding !!!

What is this feathered thing that lifts my heart to the heavens.
