I observed a lone PECTORAL SANDPIPER late this afternoon at Cove
Lake State Park, in Campbell County, TN. This is the first time I have
ever seen one in blowing snow! He was feeding frantically in some pools
of water along with 4 Killdeer.
Tree Swallows numbered around 50.
Apparently there is a Turkey Vulture roost at the park behind the
campground. I have ovserved 25-28 TV the past several evenings coming
in over the park, and landing in that vicinity, as well as the same today
in a snow shower. I also had an AMERICAN PIPIT this afternoon.
Otherwise it was very quiet with no waterfowl other than a few Mallards
and Canada Geese.
