Rankin Bottoms, Cocke county, 3/5/10, 3-4 PM
An osprey was standing in the nest on the old Rankin Bridge
yesterday, the earliest that I've ever seen one in Cocke county.
Judging by its size, it was a female. The nest has been occupied
every year since 1998.
Also:
Wood duck (7)
Am. Widgeon (2)
Blue-winged teal (2)
Green-winged teal (45)
Killdeer (68)
