Took my 5 yr old niece to "the Cove" at Concord Park (Knox Co.) Wed. 4/24 from
11:45-2:10. The water is high w/ the pond full and the island where the gulls
usually are submerged. I didn't have time to walk the loop path. Got my f.o.s.
on both Orioles w/ nice long looks at the Orchards. They were hanging around
the trees at the playground area for maybe 30 min. and still there when we left.
from beach area:
Ring-Billed Gull - 2
Great Blue Heron - 2
Mallard - 2
from playground area and inlet beside:
Baltimore Oriole - 1 m
Orchard Oriole - 2m, 1f
Brown-Headed Nuthatch - 2
Osprey - 1 (fly over)
Canada Goose - several, w/ 3 goslings
Amer. Coot - 1
C. Grackle - lots
Shane Williams - Knoxville
