[TN-Bird] Noted behaviour in backyard birds

Over the weekend I had some time to spend on the front porch and watch the
birds at and around the feeders I have on a tree just off the porch.
I noticed American Robins being aggressive to each other. I am presuming
males competing over territory. Blue Jays being equally aggressive - bumping
into
each other in flight and chasing each other. I am also presuming males vying
for territory or perhaps for a female(s)? Carolina Chickadees exhibiting the
same behaviour.
I also saw on many occasions Downy Woodpeckers flying down from another tree
in the yard to the feeders and several times one would cling to the tree and
make noises while another one would go to the suet feeder and then feed the
other one. Possibly an immature begging for food? And an indication that my
presumption that they have a nest in that other tree may have been correct?
