[TN-Bird] Northern-waterthrush in our yard

This morning I brought my wife,Betty Reid Campbell, home from the hospital
after extensive yet successful lower back surgery. That itself was a
blessing but a further joy awaited us as we sat for an hour on our elevated
deck and watched and heard a parade of migrant and resident birds. We
tallied over 30 species and the most interesting were:

Northern-waterthrush- We have had one for five straight years for several
days before it left for
West Va. or points farther north.

Wood thrush- inexplicably unusual for our yard. For three straight years a
male has proclaimed his
territory but has apparently not found a mate.

Scarlet tanager

Summer tanager

Rose-breasted grosbeak

Baltimore oriole

Eastren bluebird

Blue-gray gnatcatcher-nesting pair

Eastern phoebe-nesting pair
