Wallace Coffey and Chris O'Bryan birded the following vicinities,
Austin Springs, Boone Lake, Sullivan County, Tennessee,
Double-crested Cormorant~eight (8)
Great Blue Heron~one (1)
Also observed:
Eastern Painted Turtle (one male)~two (2)
Green Frog (calling)~one (1)
Saint John's Pond, Watauga Community, Washington County, Tennessee,
*Northern Shoveler (first year bird, first fall plumage, first fall
record)~one (1)
*There is three (3) past records (one (1) in July and two (2) in August
of past years)
Chinquapin Grove Road, Underwood Spring Branch mud flat, Sullivan County,
Tennessee,
*Black Vulture~fourty-two (42)
* two or three of the specimens were "airing out" their wings some were
in the water and some appeared
to be scavenging.
