[TN-Bird] North Reserve Field Trip Results for NTOS

Thirteen NTOS members made it out to this mornings North Reserve Field Trip in
Nashville, TN (Davidson Co.) . We started the trip at 7:30 am the weather was
cloudy with scattered rain most of the morning and temperatures in the low
60's.

From the parking lot we heard a single Prairie Warbler, 4 Common
Yellowthroats, saw several Indigo Buntings, and watched 3 cooperative Orchard
Orioles. Around the perimeter of the park White-Eyed Vireos were everywhere and
a single Yellow-breasted Chat was heard along with 2 Nashville Warblers.

As we entered the wooded interior we were welcomed by the calls of 3 KY
Warblers, a single Wood thrush and 2 Swainsons Thrushes. We hiked along an old
logging road and were serenaded with singing 3 Red-eyed Vireo, 1 Blue-headed
Vireo (gave great looks as it sang), and a single singing Yellow-throated
Vireo. Both Tanagers 4 Scarlet and 2 Summer Tanagers also were heard calling.
Jan Shaw alerted everyone to the Pit-za call of an Acadian Flycatcher and Jon
Mann brought attention to a singing Hooded Warbler. We were treated at the end
of the hike by a strutting tom Wild Turkey. Species of interest including those
mentioned above include:
