Got to work really late yesterrday (Thursday) as I stopped at Norris
Songbird Trail (Anderson County) for a couple of hours on the way in (if you
take the scenic route from west Knox County to downtown Knoxville). Had my
FOS EASTERN KINGBIRD and GRAY CATBIRD there. First time I encountered the
catbird it was singing. The second time it was carrying a small piece of
torn plastic in its bill (nesting material?). Other highlights were BLUE
GRAY GNATCATCHERS, RED-EYED VIREO and singing but unseen YELLOW-THROATED
WARBLERS AND NORTHERN PARULAS. A Canada Goose family was on the river by
the weir dam with 6 goslings.
