[TN-Bird] Norris Dam Songbird Trail

On a hot and humid Sunday morning/afternoon, June 8, I opted to seek a higher
elevation and spent a pleasant 4 hours walking around the Norris Songbird Trail
in Anderson County, Tennessee. Had 44 species plus a persistently singing
bird across the road that sounded to me like a cross between a Magnolia Warbler
(tune) and a Vireo (persistence and volume). Never could get a look at it, not
sure it sang the entire 4 hours but it was singing when I arrived and singing
when I left.

There is a dead tree that has fallen into the water just below the wooden
stairs leading from the Trail down to the water. Last June I watched fledgling
Northern Rough Winged Swallows as they perched on the tree and were fed by an
adult. This year it was fledging Barn Swallows (4 of them). It is amazing to
watch them being fed "on the fly" by an adult who doesn't take the time to
land, just hovers ever so briefly and then is off again in search of more baby
food. Also seen briefly on the fallen dead tree was a Northern Parula...
easiest look I've ever had of one.

Thought I was hearing a White-Eyed Vireo and looked up to see one singing in a
small tree just inches above my head. Unfortunately, I only had a few seconds
to view it before someone came along the path and it moved on.

Only saw one Tree Swallow. It was dive bombing a male Eastern Bluebird perched
on a nestbox.

Here's what I found:
