[TN-Bird] Nocturnal visitor

I've been keeping close watch on my suet feeder the last few days because it
seemed to me that some nights the suit was disappearing overnight. This
morning I found the basket on the ground, empty, and the long metal hook
from which I hung it in my cedar tree missing. I'm sure an animal did it as
a person couldn't have reached the feeder from the ground and probably
wouldn't have been hungry enough to eat the suet anyway. I had a smaller
hook disappear from a different location last year... never did find it.
Does this mean I've got a raccoon or could a possum be responsible? I know
there's a possum in the area but have never seen a raccoon.
Guess I need to buy a new hook and start taking the suet in at night.
