[TN-Bird] Nighthawks migrating... west

Davidson Co. TN
The small groups of nighthawks I've observed passing over the last few 
evenings have all been heading WEST. Once I realized this I remembered larger 
groups 
I've seen in past years were moving in a westerly direction also. Actually 
I'd say west/north-west although I did not have a compass to confirm this. Any 
ideas? Do they go to the Arkansas-Oklahoma border and turn left?
