On 8-28 &29- 06 there were numerous night hawks flying over the house..... I
would say nine or ten... flying northwest. Hope to see them again tonight...
had to have binoculars to see the white mark on their wings.
The chick-a-dees, titmice and other birds following them are responding to the
black sunflower I have just put out. I took all the feeders down during late
winter for the squirrels thought the whole area belonged to them... big
beautiful squirrels... but they were running over the house, straight up the
brick walls. I had at least one big squirrel in my attic in Georgia... and it
was so tough to get rid of and expensive to repair. It was a hard lesson to
learn.
My driveway in Buladean is slanted, wide and asphalt. so am scattering the
seed thinly on that. But the squirrels will probably return in full force.
I had a curious Red-eyed vireo this morning and perhaps some other new stuff...
but had to leave.... way to early!
