Had a couple of nice species for the yard list this week...
On Monday evening (August 25) right at dusk I had 3 Yellow-crowned Night-Herons
fly over the house. They were flying low and calling.
Then on Tuesday afternoon (August 26) I had an Upland Sandpiper calling from a
nearby soybean field. I never could locate the bird but it called distinctively
4 or 5 times.
Hope everyone has a nice & safe holiday weekend.
Good birding!
