[TN-Bird] New yard bird - Rusty Blackbird

11/22/08
Portland, TN
Sumner County

One solitary Rusty Blackbird made its appearance for about 30 minutes
Saturday morning underneath my feeders. Not only is this a new yard
bird, but it's also a lifer for me! In addition, one male and at least
two female Purple Finches showed up this weekend at the sunflower
feeders, and one male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker.

Two Great Horned Owls continue calling back and forth to each other
nightly at my place. Sometimes, their calls wake me during the night.
This has been going on for almost a month now.

Other birds of interest observed on my property this weekend include:
3 Red-winged Blackbirds
2 Northern Flickers
2 Mockingbirds (rare at my place)
5 White-throated Sparrows
1 Field Sparrow
2 Yellow-rumped Warblers
2 Red-bellied Woodpeckers
Downy Woodpeckers (numerous)
Goldfinches (numerous)
House finches (numerous)
1 Carolina Wren
12 Cedar Waxwings
2 Turkey Vultures
9 Wild Turkeys
2 White-breasted Nuthatches
Titmouse - (numerous)
Chickadees 5
1 Song Sparrow
5 Blue jays
6 Eastern Bluebirds
