As Carolyn Bullock and I drove to the Painted Bunting spot west of
the Allen Steam plant, as if on cue, a male Painted Bunting flew to
the top of a shrub and started singing. Later, we ran into 20+
Bobolinks, 4 Dickcissels, 2 Wilson Phalaropes, a Stilt Sandpiper. a
pair of Blue Grosbeaks, several orioles and a Shrike on a nest. Plus
the usual and expected birds
Not a bad morning.
