[tn-bird] Nesting Rose-breasted Grosbeaks

Sunday, I hiked to Bob Stratton Bald in the Citico Creek Wilderness Area
of the Cherokee National Forest of eastern Monroe County. On the return
trip, we paused to try to catch a glimpse of a veery that we were
hearing. While stopped, a male Rose-breasted Grosbeak flew into a tree
right in front of us and started singing. A short time later, a female
Rose-breasted Grosbeak carrying nesting material flew into the same
tree. They then flew off together. We were able to hear both their
call notes and their songs. Other birds noted at this high
elevation(4000-5000 ft.) were Veery, Eastern Towhee, Gray Catbird,
Dark-eyed Junco, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Black-throated Green
Warbler.
