The Nashville Fall Count took place on Sept. 27 and totalled 127 species. It
was a strange weather day which started with very threatening dark clouds and

were very low. Some of the birds and numbers of interest included:
5 Osprey at Warner Park, Percy Priest Lake, and Old Hickory Lake
2 Bald Eagles at Cheatham County
3 Northern Harriers at Harpeth East and Shelby Bottoms
9 Cooper's Hawks
0 Northern Bobwhite
8 shorebird species including 1 Stilt Sandpiper at Percy Priest Lake
all woodpeckers including 2 Red-headed at Natchez Trace Pkwy, and 4
Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers
1 late Willow Flycatcher at Warner Park
1 Least Flycatcher at Percy Priest Lake
1 Yellow-bellied Flycatcher at Radnor Lake
1 Eastern Kingbird at Percy Priest Lake
1 Sedge Wren at Shelby Bottoms (6 had been seen on Friday)
1 Marsh Wren at Cheatham County
1 Veery at Radnor Lake
only 6 Swainson's Thrushes
very low vireo numbers
25 species of warblers including 1 Cape May at Radnor Lake and 1 Prothonotary
at Shelby Bottoms
