[TN-Bird] NTOS field trip to Old Hickory Lake, Dec. 13

Saturday, December 13 - Old Hickory Lake, Davidson and Sumner  Counties
              All are welcome to join NTOS as we bird at several spots along 
Old Hickory Lake  looking for loons, grebes, geese, ducks, gulls, and 
wintering sparrows.  It  will be cold along the water, so please dress warmly.  
Bring 
a scope if you  have one.  We'll meet at the lower parking lot of the 
Adventure Science  Center (800 Fort Negley Blvd. 37203) at 7:30 and carpool 
from 
there.   This trip will last just the morning.
 
If you'd like to meet us at the lake instead, please be at Snow Bunting  
Peninsula by 7:50.  This area can be reached by taking the Old  Hickory Blvd 
exit 
from I-65 north of the city. (Rt. 45). Head south on Rt 45  across Gallatin 
Road and continue across the Cumberland River. Take the second  left after 
crossing the bridge. This is Bridgeway Ave. Turn left onto Ensley Ave  and 
continue 
to Swinging Bridge Road. Take a left at Swinging Bridge Road, then  take the 
first right (Burnett Road). Follow this road down to a gravel area  which juts 
out into the lake. This is Snow Bunting Peninsula.
