[TN-Bird] NTOS Beaman Park field trip results

4-25-09
Beaman Park
Davidson Co.

NTOS members and a visitor from New York enjoyed beautiful Beaman Park this
morning. Since the gate was closed to the University School Wetland early
this morning, we didn't get there until after birding at Beaman, when it
was pretty hot and there was a scarcity of birds. Highlights of the day
were FOS Eastern Wood-Pewee and Acadian Flycatcher for most of us, Swainson's
Thrush and Wood Thrush, 13 species of warblers, and Summer and Scarlet
Tanagers. A pair of Kentucky Warblers really put on a show for us, up close
and staying in sight quite a while. The Worm-eating Warblers and Louisiana
Waterthrushes are there in good numbers, and we had good looks at a few.
