Hi,
I've never seen one in TN, but up north, they are known to roost low. For
instance, the one we kept tabs on when I lived in New York for a year stayed at
EYE LEVEL for me (I'm 5'4" tall) or the whole winter in a short pine tree
across the highway from Jones Beach on New York's Long Island. When we took
folks
out there to see it, all we had to do was pull a limb down a little, and
there it was--just staring right back at us. At that time, on the East Coast,
we
were always told to look low as well as up. I've never seen one anywhere that
was above 20 feet from the ground, but I've only seen them in the Northeast.
