June 2009
Shelby Co. TN
Two pair of Western Kingbirds are building nests at new sites on
President's Island. The hybrid female on the Island has not been seen this week
but
she normally nests late. The hybrid in Frayser has again given up her
original nest site and for the third year settled back to the site used the
past
2 years. I watched her bring the first material to that site Sunday.
The pair of Scissor-tails on President's Island is doing their thing, him
sitting around in full regalia while she sets her clutch.
Good Birding !!!
